Nina Service Dogs started the Flagship Programme called the Session-Service Dogs in Greece. Nina, our female Jack Russel is a certified session/service dog and was the first dog in Greece and our pioneer who has worked and participated in sessions with autistic children, with the presence and help of her trainer and the children's specialists.

A PTSD assistance dog is trained to assist people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; an anxiety disorder which occurs to children and adults after a serious traumatic episode or scary event.

Multipurpose assistance dogs are dogs that are highly trained to assist children with multiple issues. Children with disabilities coming from premature birth, syndromes such as Down’s, apraxia, ADHD, fraxile X, life threatening medical illnesses or a variety of mental health diagnosis that cannot fit exactly into one of the categories of service dogs, may benefit from a multipurpose assistance dog. Some children may have a combination of conditions.

Fetal alcohol spectrum is a non visible disability and a birth defect, which occurs during pregnancy if a mother is drinking alcohol. Children born with FASD spectrum, prenatal drug exposure (DE), ADHD, autism and other based neurologically disabilities, have the same behavioral patterns and similar neurological, emotional, behavioral and intellectual impairments.

Diabetic alert dogs are highly skilled trained dogs that most of the time are able to smell and recognize the chemical changes that occur in human’s body when the levels of the insulin drop or increase. We are able to train diabetic alert dogs for children who have insulin-dependent type one diabetes. 

Seizure assistance dogs are trained to help children with seizures. As part of a wider safety mechanism, many parents will find the help of such dogs beneficial to the lives of their children. A seizure assistance dog cannot replace medical treatments, but it can provide parents with an extra pair of eyes on children dealing with seizures.

A mobility assistance dog is a dog trained to perform tasks, which increase the independence of the person with body function and structure disabilities. Children who may benefit from a mobility assistance dog, are children who might have a variety disabilities such as brain injury, muscular dystrophy, arthritis, spina bifida, balance problems/ataxia, spinal cord injury or other similar conditions.

Companionship is one of the key traits of dogs and this helps create very strong bonds with the people they share their lives with. A dog's behavior makes connecting with autistic children easier. Children diagnosed with autism have a hard time communicating with other children and people. The benefits on the development of the socialization skills of children are remarkable. 

he service dogs that are trained as hearing ear dogs learn to respond to verbal and hand signals/gestures. People with full or partial loss of hearing may be in life danger because of their inability to hear. Service dogs are trained to make physical contact with their nose or paw and lead their handler to the source of the sound.
